Last Week at JPII - 11/10/25
“Oh when the saints go marching in!” Scroll down to see more of our All Saints Day celebrations!
November 10, 2025 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.
JPII’s Robotics Club went up against other local robotics teams at their first robotics competition last Sunday. The Griffins did very well and placed 3rd and 6th out of the 21 teams that competed! Congratulations, students!
Last Monday, students in K-6 were invited to dress as their favorite saints for our All Saints Day celebration! Appearances were made by St. Elizabeth of Hungary, the Head of John the Baptist, St. Michael, St. Clare of Assisi, and many others!
We even had a visit from one of the most newly canonized: St. Carlo Acutis! We’ll let you figure out which one is the JPII Kindergartener… 😉 Students played games, enjoyed snacks, and held a parade through the school as “Oh When the Saints Go Marching In” played over the speakers. All you Holy Men and Women, pray for us!
A peek inside the classroom this week… On the left, 5th and 6th grade works on memorizing G. K. Chesterton’s The Ballad of the White Horse. On the right, Kindergarten enjoys some math group work with Miss Mellender.
On the left, Girls and Boys Leadership took their annual trip to the St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery to pray for the deceased, pick up trash, and clean headstones. And on the right, the high school physics class was invited by their teacher Dr. Richter-Egger (the Math Science Learning Center Director at UNO) to attend the UNO weather balloon launch.
And for a little fun… Fr. Brian Hula made a visit to campus this week, and delighted the lower school by bringing his accordion and sharing the gift of music! And our headmaster can play volleyball…who knew?
Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
