Student Activities and Clubs

Our Philosophy

As part of the school’s mission, JPII students are encouraged to use and develop all the gifts and talents they have been given to strive for excellence. Truth, Goodness, and Beauty are objective and tangible - and something our students can have a part in creating.

We also embrace St. John Paul II’s view on athletics: “Sports contribute to the love of life, teaches sacrifice, respect and responsibility, leading to the full development of every human person.” Sports at their foundation are games and meant to be played and enjoyed, and are an opportunity for personal growth and development. This is what can set sports apart, that when done well, they not only provide leisure and pleasure, but also build virtue.

Clubs

  • Members of Art Club seek to refine and perfect artistic skills learned in the classroom. The club is focused on cultivating fellowship and talent, as well as introducing new mediums and styles to its members.

  • Under the wings of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), middle and high school teams gain real-world experience in choosing, researching, and presenting on a project related to the field of engineering.

    • Lectors, who proclaim the readings from sacred scripture and announce the intentions for Mass.

    • Altar servers, who assist the priest in the celebrations of the sacred liturgy, especially at the altar at Mass.

    • Sacristans, who help prepare the celebrations of the sacred liturgy, especially the Mass.
