Last Week at JPII - 08/24/26
The 2026-27 School Year has begun! We are thrilled that our classrooms are once again filled with students alive with the love of learning.
August 24, 2026 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.
Continuing our practice from years past, students took their traditional 1st day of school photos in front of the Our Lady of Fatima mosaic at the school entrance.
A peek inside our Lower School (grades K-5)!
1st grade science class took to the outdoors to observe and sketch in their nature journals.
Kindergarten students chose to use one of their morning breaks to play quiet games and read books together. They also enjoyed playing volleyball with Ms. Sawicki during recess.
The 2nd & 3rd grade had a wonderful time completing their first history activity. During the first day of class, students covered the feudal system. Each student was assigned a role in the feudal system (king, knight, page, noble etc.), and they had to ask questions of their fellow students to discover which role they had been assigned.

This week, students enjoyed an opportunity for adoration and confession in the Church after lunch. We are so grateful for the priests who give of their time to spiritually nourish the JPII student body.
In Art Classes, students were able to choose from a variety of saints and materials to create tiny portable shrines for their lockers.
The high school is greatly appreciating their new space in the St. Joseph Building - Miss Chouinard teaches advanced algebra, while history and other math classes can take place in the two other seminar rooms. In the meantime, the 9th and 10th grade takes over the parlor for a group study session.
The Upper School Boys have also been greatly enjoying the new space - especially the outdoor features.
