Kindergarten - 2nd grade sing their hearts out during their performance from “Tomorrow” from Annie at Friday’s Spring Arts Showcase & Grandparents Day.

May 4, 2026 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

The Spring Arts Showcase and Grandparents Day was a great success. Students impressed with their poetry, artwork, music, and awards. Every recognition was well-deserved, as students have been working tirelessly at refining their skills and talents. See more photos here.

At the end of the Spring Art Showcase, students were joined by grandparents and guests for the singing of the “Non Nobis.” The “Non Nobis” is sung by the student body regularly in thanksgiving for the good work that has been done. Watch the video here.

The 1st-4th grade hosted an incredibly successful Wax History Museum for fellow students and parents. They researched and presented on the various figures that they covered in Early Medieval History this year. Here are some of the historical figures on which they presented.

A Griffin sports update: Special thanks to JPII Parents Mike and Lauren Hargis for coordinating the 4-week Soccer Clinic for students in Grades K-4. And our track team is having a great season - students are working hard, placing at meets, and consistently achieving personal bests.

3rd and 4th grade built a volcano! Students have been studying chemical reactions in science class and observed what happens when you mix sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and acetic acid (vinegar).

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
