Last Week at JPII - 03/23/26

Congratulations to our 8th-12th grade students on performing at the Pueri Cantores Festival and Mass at St. Cecilia’s Cathedral!

March 23, 2026 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

The Pueri Cantores Festival was a day-long choral intensive that brought together several regional high school choirs to sing beautiful music from the Church’s rich historical repertoire. This was the first time the Festival has been brought to Omaha.

Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Michael G. McGovern, the choir was conducted by Dr. Richard Carrillo from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and the organist was Dr. Michael Emmerich, the Associate Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Omaha. What an incredible gift to participate in this experience for the greater glory of God! See more pictures and videos here.

This week, the 1st and 2nd grade did a stained glass study, integrating art and history class. The 7th grade science class swabbed surfaces of the classroom, testing to see whether bleach, vinegar, or soap was more effective at sanitizing the areas.

We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a sea of green! ☘️

St Joseph’s Day Celebrations were filling - spiritually and physically! From our beautiful Mass and Eucharistic Procession, to the homemade meatballs and high-energy hall games, it was a wonderful way of celebrating the patron of the Universal Church. See more photos here.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
