Last Week at JPII - 03/09/26

JPII is Rome-ing far this Spring Break! Keep our 10th-12th graders, parents, teachers, and Fr. Hilgendorf in your prayers as they travel and pray in the Eternal City! More updates to follow.

March 2, 2026 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

We are immensely proud of the 5th and 6th grade Boys Basketball team for making it all the way to the championship game and (after an extremely close game) bringing home the second place trophy this season! Verso l’Alto!

JPII’s Robotics Club - represented by Team Junk Jawas - had a great showing last week in the Nebraska Robotics State Championship Tournament! They competed against many teams from across the state, narrowly missing finals match-ups and earning a medal for their costumes. They competed well, displaying their driving, engineering, and teamwork skills - a great way to finish out the Robotics Competition season!

Inside the Kindergarten classroom - working with the Good Shepherd during Level 1 CGS, and a field trip to the Joslyn Art Museum!

Inside the Upper School - 9th grade took a trip to the Joslyn to spend time in the Ancient Mediterranean collection. This visit brought life to the Greek, Roman, and Egyptian cultures which the students have been recently studying. And 7th & 8th grade made a visit to First Friday Adoration at Holy Ghost.

Inside the 1st & 2nd grade classroom - labeling the city of Jerusalem during Level 2 CGS, and the discovery that math is waaay more fun on the floor.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
