Last Week at JPII - 12/15/25

Female teachers and JPII high school girls gathered a for their annual formal Christmas tea party!

December 15, 2025 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

Happy (belated) Feast of St. Lucy! As is JPII Academy tradition, the littlest “Lucy’s” of our community dressed up yesterday and went from classroom to classroom, serving sweet rolls to the whole school.

The new JPII Journalism Club published their very first edition of the school newspaper. They worked hard collecting and formatting school news stories, comic strips, and fun facts into a fun and engaging publication. And testing season is upon us; 8th graders were super focused during a lunchtime study group over some delicious chili with Ms. Seidl.

This week, Girls Leadership held a hot cocoa party celebrating Our Lady of Guadalupe, featuring chips & guac and napkin roses. They also received a needlepoint lesson from Mrs. Langan and Mrs. Vasko! Boys Leadership listened to the story of David the shepherd and warrior, and made and tested their own shepherd slings.

Upper School students hard at work in choir class perfecting their pieces for Lessons and Carols next Friday - among them Philip Stopford’s “Lully, Lulla, Lullay”, which is a captivating and deeply moving version of the Coventry Carol. And led by Dr. Aguila, the high school put on a martial arts demonstration for the school.

Ms. Chouinard guided the 5th and 6th graders through a science lab on roly-poly bugs, researching and observing the bugs’ curling action.

From left to right: 3rd and 4th grade boys enjoying a free reading period. 1st and 2nd grade enjoying the beautiful Advent books donated to the classroom by Liz Miles. And 1st grader Joy very focused during Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, copying down the prophecy of the Messiah.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
