Last Week at JPII - 12/01/25

Although there were only two days of school this week, we did do some learning! 1st and 2nd graders studied germs and bacteria, and conducted an experiment by growing bacteria in a petri dish!

December 1, 2025 - It’s been busy at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

The 3rd and 4th grade took their own field trip to the Luminarium this week! Students had a great time exploring the physics of light and sound, as well as playing on the Riverfront Playground.

There was also much feasting and in-class parties! The Kindergarten made their annual Stone Soup (yes, like the book by Marcia Brown), donning aprons, chopping veggies, and cooking ingredients (including a stone, of course) in an Instant Pot. They set the table and enjoyed a feast together as a class.

1st and 2nd grade shared a loaf of cranberry bread from Miss Simon after reading Cranberry Thanksgiving and to celebrate the start of break. And the 9th and 10th grade put together a feast of biblical foods. Each student brought a dish with some biblical connection, such as bread, grapes, olives, meat with mediterranean seasonings and more!

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
