Last Week at JPII - 04/14/25

JPII Juniors Grace and Lilly joined 50 other high school students at the Attorney General’s 2025 Youth Conference.

April 14, 2025 - It was a busy week at St. John Paul II Academy! Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from last week, capturing the heart of life at JPII.

Grace and Lilly spent the day at the state capitol with Attorney General Mike Hilgers, Governor Jim Pillen, Senator Beau Ballard, and Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Jason Bergevin. A highlight of the day was debating a bill on social media use on the floor of the Warner Legislative Chamber.

Grace and Lilly submitted essays on the US Constitution in order to be selected for this program from among from students across the state. Congratulations ladies!

Congratulations to the winners of our March Madness Intramural Basketball tournament: Frassati Hall’s Dunkin’ Donuts!

Iowa Achievement Testing is underway! Over the next couple of school days, 4th-8th graders will be taking these standardized tests in their classrooms.

In Girls Leadership this week, Mrs. Anna Fletcher visited and taught an introductory knitting class.  The girls learned how to do a basic knit stitch and got to practice with their own needles and yarn. In Boys Leadership this week, the boys enjoyed learning how to send and decode messages in Morse Code!

As Lent wraps, Kindergarten has been transforming a crown of thorns into a crown of flowers for our Lord through sacrifices, and meditating on the Passion by using peg dolls to create scenes from the Passion.

Hope you enjoyed this week in the life of JPII. Stay tuned for more glimpses in and out of the classroom as we continue to form saints, fully alive!
